One of my big learnings during the past years has been the power of action.
Being a person who loves to plan and reflect before acting, I used to spend a lot of time on preparation.
Preparing projects, preparing presentations, preparing beautiful e-mails.
There is nothing generally bad about that, but spending too much time on preparing instead of acting, reduces our experiences and opportunities.
Once we start acting, our mindset changes and we immediately feel closer to a result.
Acting lifts us up, we focus differently, and we get new motivation.
Even if the outcome is not (yet) what we expected in the beginning, we grow in working self-responsibly and create what is important to us.
We strive for more in a shorter period of time. We dare more. We experiment. We know better what helps us succeed.
I love how James Clear points out that it’s the small, every-day habits that define our future identity. That motivates me to start today, to do something meaningful today, to not wait until later. Because later I will be older.
